Haircut Hijinx is the 17th episode of the 3rd season of Team Umizoomi, and the 56th episode overall.

Episode Description

The Team's friend Owen is really excited: he's about to get a haircut! But when Owen's money blows away, the Team sets out on a high-stakes adventure to get it back. ^[1]

Summary

The team's friend Owen really needs a haircut. However, his four (4) Umi-Dollars are blown out the window and they must retrieve his money.

Synopsis

Intro: Milli and Geo's Haircuts

The episode starts with Bot greeting the viewer from a barbershop, where both Milli and Geo are sitting in two barbers' chairs with very long hair. They are waiting to get their haircuts and agree their hair has gotten too long. Geo asks the viewer if they have ever had a haircut before.

The team is then introduced to their hairstylist, a friendly woman named Cindy. Once Milli and Geo are ready, Cindy begins brushing and cutting Geo's hair, and he says it feels so good. Bot mentions that hair can be styled in many different ways. The team even sings a song about different hairstyles in a separate clip while Milli and Geo are getting their hair cut.

Once the song is over, Geo and Milli’s haircuts are finished. Milli and Geo instantly spin their chairs around to see their new hairstyles in the mirror. They both love them, and so does their good friend Owen!

A Robbed Haircut!

Owen comments on the haircuts of Milli and Geo, and then he is introduced to Umi-Friend. Owen is also seen with long hair, and wants to get a haircut from the barbershop. Team Umizoomi sees that he did the decent thing, because his hair keeping getting in his eyes which makes it hard to see where he's going! However, Owen also came to the right place at the right time, especially after he bought some Umi-Dollars he got from his father to buy the haircut. They all count the Umi-Dollars, and see that he has four (4) of them, meaning he has enough to buy his haircut. All of a sudden, a hairstylist turns on a hair dryer to dry someone else's hair, and the air blows in Owen's direction, making all of Owen's money fly out the window and get scattered all over Umi City. Sadly, Owen's haircut opportunity got blown away as well, disappointing him. But Team Umizoomi comes to the rescue and steps into action to get back the four (4) Umi-Dollars. Milli and Geo then put their helmets on and start their mission as they sing, "We Are Team Umizoomi."

The Pattern Pole

Geo uses his Umi-Goggles to look around for the first Umi-Dollar, and sees it at the top of a big flagpole. When Bot sees that the Umi-Dollar is really high up, Milli climbs to the top by using the rope of the flag. The rope colors are seen in a pattern, using this sequence: blue, green, yellow. She puts this pattern onto her dress and uses her Pattern Power to keep climbing. At one point, she sees orange on the rope in place of yellow, and that starts breaking! So, with a little help from Umi-Friend, she replaces it with yellow to repair the rope, but also alerts them that any part of the rope that is the wrong color is considered booby-trapped and will begin breaking off. Despite those obstacles, Milli continues making her way to the top of the flagpole, and replaces a bit of red with green along the way to repair the rope. Soon, she reaches the top and retrieves one of Owen's Umi-Dollars, finishing this part of the mission! Then, she uses the Umi-Dollar bill as a parachute to float down to the floor, and then Bot puts it in his Robo-Money Counter.

If The Shoe Fits

The team had only found one Umi-Dollar, leaving them three more to collect for Owen's haircut. Spotting one fluttering nearby, Bot sprang into action! He darted across the sidewalk, leaping over bushes, fountains, and even umbrellas in his pursuit. With a burst of energy, he scaled a tall tower, using a discarded yellow balloon as a makeshift kite to reach the elusive Umi-Dollar.

Triumphant, Bot rode the Umi-Dollar like a magical carpet, soaring down to land atop a passing truck. Unfortunately, the truck sped away, depositing Bot and his prize in a chaotic pile of boxed shoes outside a bustling shoe store. Milli and Geo, employing their critical thinking and decoding skills, deciphered Bot's cryptic message: "Yellow shoe, green laces."

Armed with this clue, they meticulously searched the shoe mountain, finally locating Bot nestled within a vibrant yellow shoe adorned with green laces. With a sigh of relief, they pulled Bot out, and he carefully put the second Umi-Dollar into his trusty money counter.

Halfway Point and Beyond

When Bot checks his Robot Computer, he sees that the team has found two (2) out of four (4) Umi-Dollars, meaning they are halfway through. They also give Owen a call to update him on their progress. Milli tells him that they found two (2) Umi-Dollars and Geo tells him that they will get the rest of his money back ASAP. Owen then cheers on for the team as they continue their mission before ending the call. After which, Milli uses her Umi-Goggles to look for the third Umi-Dollar, which is seen continuing to fly around, until it lands on the back of a pink poodle, who then runs into a nearby dog park. In that case, the team rushes over there to get the Umi-Dollar back.

Poodle Disguise

When Team Umizoomi gets to the dog park, they run into DoorMouse, who stops them and informs them that only poodles are allowed inside. However, they need to go in to get the Umi-Dollar back. To solve this, Geo comes up with a great idea: he'll construct a poodle disguise for Bot using his Super Shapes.

With a blueprint and a little help, Geo makes the disguise out of four ovals, six triangles, and three circles. He puts the disguise on Bot, who then shows it to DoorMouse. DoorMouse is completely fooled and lets Bot into the park because of his disguise and dog-like behavior.

Now, Bot just has to find the pink poodle who has the Umi-Dollar and get her to give it back. Once he finds her, Bot says, "Woofy, woof, woof!" so the poodle can understand what he wants. It works! Bot successfully gets the third Umi-Dollar, completing this part of the team's mission. Afterward, Bot leaves the dog park, shakes off his disguise, and shows Milli and Geo the Umi-Dollar.

UmiCar's Jumpy Pursuit

Team Umizoomi has retrieved three of Owen's Umi-Dollars. Now, they just need one more for him to get his haircut. Bot's radar detects the last Umi-Dollar, which is camouflaged on a big boat on a sign near the bus stop. They find it, but it flies away before they can grab it. To catch up, Geo uses the Umi-Phone to call UmiCar.

The team drives after the Umi-Dollar on the city sidewalks. They encounter an obstacle when two men carrying a big red couch leave it on the sidewalk, blocking UmiCar's path. To get past it, Geo suggests they jump over it by going faster. They check the speedometer and see UmiCar is going ten. Bot says they need to reach a speed of twenty to make the jump. With the help of a Umi-Friend, they count from 10 to 20, successfully making the jump and continuing the chase.

Next, a lady pushes some boxes of fruit out of a supermarket, blocking their way again! Bot makes UmiCar go twenty-seven to jump over them. After that jump, they see a garbage truck in the way, so Bot makes UmiCar go thirty-five to jump over the truck. Team Umizoomi is back on track, and Bot uses his extend-o arm to retrieve the final Umi-Dollar.

With all four Umi-Dollars for Owen's haircut safely recovered, the team's mission is completed!

Conclusion: Money Recovery & The Final Haircut

With all four Umi-Dollars safely recovered, Team Umizoomi raced back to the barbershop to deliver the good news. Owen was excited! He excitedly presented the Umi-Dollars to Cindy, the friendly barber, and requested a "short back and sides."

Cindy, expertly guided by Bot, who handed her the gleaming scissors, began the transformation. The team pitched in to help: Milli expertly sprayed Owen's hair with a water bottle, while Geo diligently swept up any errant strands. Even Bot wasn't immune to the hair-cutting process, sporting a few stray hairs on his antenna.

Soon, the deed was done! Owen emerged with a stylish new look, beaming with satisfaction. The team erupted in cheers, celebrating their successful mission. As a reward for their hard work, they indulged in a celebratory Crazy Shake before signing off, bringing another exciting Umizoomi adventure to a close.
