Episode Description[]
Today is Daniel's birthday party, but he's got a big problem! The party is about to start but his Dad is stuck on a broken subway train with the birthday cake! Daniel calls on Team Umizoomi for help, and they jump into action. [1]
Summary[]
Team Umizoomi's Purple Polka Dot Party is cut short after they learn from their friend Daniel, who is having his birthday party later, that his dad is stuck on a broken subway train with the birthday cake. The team finds a way to power the train up and get the cake in time for Daniel's party.
Synopsis[]
Intro: Purple Polka-Dot Party[]
Milli, of Team Umizoomi is seen having fun in the middle of a park while setting up a purple polka-dot party. She uses her Pattern Power to turn everything she brings into a pattern of purple polka dots. The rest of the team joins in as they sing and play. Milli then calls it the best party she has ever had.
Daniel's Delayed Dad[]
The Umi Alarm rings on Bot, and he answers immediately. They have been called to give help to their friend Daniel, who is celebrating his birthday today with a birthday party, but his dad still has not shown up at his house with his birthday cake. He then gets a phone call from his dad, who updates him on the situation - the subway train he is taking home is not moving for some reason, and now he and the other passengers on that train are stuck in the middle of the way. Based on that, Team Umizoomi goes there to try and fix the train so it can move again. They get their Mighty Math Powers ready with the Mighty Math Powers song.
Going To the Subway Station[]
Before they go, the team wonders how the subway train works. After singing the How Does It Work song, Bot tells them that there are stations underground where people can ride the subway, and people buy tickets to get into a train that will take them where they need to get. Geo then uses the Umi-Phone to ask UmiCar to pick up the team and take them to the subway station. The team tries to look for the subway station right by the cake shop where Daniel's dad went to get the birthday cake. After finding the entrance to that station, they go on a bumpy ride in UmiCar down the stairs and into the station.
The Ticket Machine[]
When the team gets off of UmiCar, they catch sight of the ticket machine where tickets can be purchased. Then, they use their bouncy shoes to get up to the screen where they can find the price of a ticket. It tells them that to get a ticket, they need to pay four (4) big coins and three (3) small coins. Bot checks his Bot-o-Mat for those coins, and the team counts them up and pays them in the slot, with a little help from Umi-Friend. Upon successful payment, they receive their subway ticket and are free to go in after they put it in the ticket slot facing the right way.
Finding the Subway Train[]
After the team gets let in, they try to look for the subway train in which Daniel's dad is. They find two (2) dark tunnels, and believe that the train is in one of the tunnels. To find out which one, Milli uses her Pattern Power to put glowing stars in the tunnels to brighten them up. Once the tunnels are brighter, they find out that the train is in the tunnel on their right. They go through that tunnel, and say the magic words to open up a little shortcut door that will take them into the subway train.
The Control Booth[]
Once Team Umizoomi enters the train, Bot gets a call from Daniel telling them that the party is about to begin. Milli updates him that they got to the subway train, and found his dad with the cake. Then, the team tries to get to the control booth at the front of the train car, through a green door. They go over, under, around, and through the things in their way to get there, and then they take a look at the train engine to find out what is wrong with it. They start by testing the train lights, and then the horn, and then they find out that the lever that turns the engine on is stuck, because a coin is stuck in it. They pull it out and then turn the engine on successfully.
Driving the Train[]
Team Umizoomi decides to drive the train to Daniel's birthday party so his dad can get the birthday cake to him. With a little help from Umi-Friend, they stop the train at the station closest to the building of Daniel's home, which has lots of balloons, and then his dad gets off the train at that point. Meanwhile, the team looks for another shortcut door so they can get to Daniel's party as well.
Home Sweet Home[]
Daniel's dad finally makes it to Daniel's birthday party with the cake. Home sweet home (literally)! Team Umizoomi also shows up, and Daniel gets so proud that the team got the subway train fixed in time for his dad and the cake to get to the party. They are even given a taste of Daniel's cake, which they all love. In addition, they do even more celebrating with the Umi Shake and Crazy Shake having saved the day again.
