Team Umizoomi Wiki

Rules are in place to keep the wiki organized and make sure this is a welcome and active place. If you have a problem with any of the guidelines, find someone breaking a rule, or need help, please use an admin's Message Wall to discuss the problem. Thank you.

General guidelines

  1. Treat others with respect: Be nice to everyone. So please, no cursing or discrimination of any kind.
  2. No hateful or adult content: This is a kid-friendly wiki, so there should be no inappropriate content of any kind here. Try to keep political or religious content to a minimum as well.
  3. No vandalism: Offensive text, off-topic information, blanking pages, and messing up pages is a violation of all Wiki policies and extremely unhelpful.
  4. No false information: This is not a fanon wiki, we only use information from the show and related media. Don't add false information to pages or change details to be incorrect.
  5. No irrelevant content: Everything must be related to Team Umizoomi. The only place you can discuss things other than Team Umizoomi is in the Off-Topic section of Discussions.
  • (If you received any warning in any way, shape, or form, please check your talk page or your message wall.)

These are the general rules for this website, please try to follow them as close as possible. There are more rules for specifics as seen below.

Article Guidelines

  • Opinions: Try not to add your personal opinions to pages, they should only be based on facts. You can instead talk about them in the page's comment section or discussion, as long as they follow the 4 general rules.
  • False Categories: Do not add incorrect categories to pages (like adding UmiCar to Animal category).

Image Guidelines

  • No low quality images: Avoid adding images that are low quality, like too pixelated or blurry images. This includes taking pictures of a TV screen or device with a camera instead of screenshotting. Any low quality images may be deleted. If there is no other image quality available, it can be used but please note that in the image description.
  • No fanart or non Team Umizoomi related images: Fanart and non-Team Umizoomi images can only be used on your user page and in the Fanart and Off-Topic sections of the Discussions tab.
  • Naming Images: Please change the image's name before uploading them. They should describe the image, like as "Team Umizoomi doing a pose.png". Otherwise, they will be named like "IM0423.png" which is not helpful.

User pages

  • Do not edit a user page if it's not your own - it's rude. If there's a grammatical error or suggestion, you can say it to the user by contacting through their message wall.
  • Do not add images that are copyrighted - Screenshots or part of them shouldn't go on your page, it goes away from the fair use policy in the USA. Completely user generated images/fanart are OK to add.
  • You are free to add links to other Wikia wikis you use, to add own polls for fun, to-do lists, etc. But never link to the adult sites even it's your own page.

Message Wall

  • Reply on the other user pages - if someone leaves a message on your page and the discussion is only meant to be between you and him, it'd be polite to reply on their own user talk page so that they find your response easier, this doesn't apply to admin pages.
  • Be polite - treat people as you want them to treat you.
  • Don't spam - don't insert gibberish (example: aeh0tuw4htuhq34), nonsense text in other people pages.

Blocks

Blocks are the result of breaking rules. Most of the time, you will get a warning depending on what you did wrong. However, repeated action will result in blocks, which can either be from specific pages or sitewide. They can also vary on time depending on the rule broken, from a few hours to indefinitely.

Please try to clearly communicate why you're doing when you get warned so that the admins can better understand what you're trying to do, to avoid any miscommunication. Not talking at all or being rude and continuing to repeat breaking rules will likely result in being blocked.

  • If it's a minor rule like incorrect spelling or going off topic, your punishment will most likely only be a warning, unless you repeat it intentionally.
  • Severe rule breaking like sexual content and posting scam links will result in an instant permanent block.

But for every rule in between, the punishments will be based off a three strike system:

  1. Strike 1: You get a warning, either on your message wall or your talk page.
  2. Strike 2: You get a temporary block, from either 1 day to a month.
  3. Strike 3: You get blocked for a longer amount of time, from 1 year to indefinitely.

Your punishment will depend on what rules you broke. You may also get multiple warnings, or more than 2 blocks. You will be notified of the specific punishment you will get and how long it will last when you are warned.

NOTE: Creating alternate accounts for the purpose of avoiding blocks is strictly not allowed. If it is found out that you are block evading, both accounts will be blocked, and the amount of time that you are blocked for will increase. General alternate account use is allowed as long as you follow all the other rules and don't go too crazy with them.

Appealing Blocks

If you were blocked, you may try to appeal your block on your message board if you feel like you were wrongly blocked or want to explain your actions and try to clear up any misunderstandings. You should always be able to comment on your own message wall if you are blocked.

Applying for Administration

If you have been an active member in the community, you can be eligible for becoming an admin in for the wiki.

There are 4 major requirements:

  1. Be active
  2. Have a lot of high quality edits

Page Protection

Protected pages are pages that can not be edited by common users, and are locked only to roles such as admins.

  • Most pages will be unprotected so everyone is free to edit them. However, if a page is subject to vandalism or an edit war between users, it will be protected for a definite amount of time, usually from 1 week to 1 month.
  • Pages can not be protected for petty reasons, like marking a page as done or similar reasons. It must be only used sparingly and for important reasons only.

If you would like to have a page protected or have the protection removed, contact an admin through their message wall.
