Episode Description[]

Team Umizoomi visits the King of Numbers in his magical Number Kingdom. But when Zilch, the anti-math wizard, locks the king in his tower, all the numbers start to disappear! Can the team save the king and his kingdom? [1]

Summary[]

Zilch, the math-hating wizard, locks the King of Numbers in his Crooked Tower. In order to free him, Team Umizoomi must collect all three keys to the tower door.

Synopsis[]

Intro: Invitation to Numberland[]

Team Umizoomi is inside Fountain Headquarters in their living room. Nothing has happened for a while, and things have been dull for the team. Then, a hummingbird appears at the window. She has a card in her beak. It was a letter for the team. Bot accepts the letter from her, and she flies away. Bot opens the letter and discovers it's an invitation from their friend The King of Numbers. He wants them to come visit him in his kingdom, Numberland. The only way to get to Numberland is to clap three times. The team then counts 3 claps, and they get magically transported to Numberland.

They meet up with the King of Numbers. His kingdom has so many numbers, you can't even count them. The best part of Numberland is that everyone in the kingdom loves numbers (that is except for Zilch the wizard). The king then sings about himself, while the team gets to discover number-shaped objects, including a pogo stick, bubbles, popsicles, and more.

Zilch's Plot[]

As it turns out, there's someone who hates numbers, a grumpy, green wizard named Zilch, who lived in the Crooked Tower on the edge of the kingdom. That meant that he was known to also be a troublemaker. Zilch comes by and has had with all the numbers in Numberland. The king tells him that Numberland will always have numbers, as long as he's around. Zilch gets the idea to get rid of the king. Using his magic staff, he lifts the king all the way up to the top of his tower, which he gets locked inside indefinitely until Team Umizoomi can help out. This then triggers the UmiAlarm on Bot's radar.

Zilch shows Team Umizoomi that the only way that the tower can be open is via the three (3) magic Shape Keys, which he throws far away so the king can be retained in the tower forever with absolutely nothing. Zilch hops on a log, but the log causes him to roll away with the log. He yells out, "You haven't seen the last of me, Team Umizoomi!" Bot hopes they don't see him for a while.

Team Umizoomi has to free the king, or else Numberland will fade away, and likely turn into "Zilch's Land" or something. They have to retrieve the three (3) Shape Keys to free the king. The first key is the Star Key. So the magical journey begins as the team sings "We Are Team Umizoomi."

Square Beard[]

The team finds them outside of Numberland and on the shores of Shape Sea. Geo, using his Umi-Goggles, finds the Star Key on a little faraway island. Both Geo and Bot wonder how to get to the island, and Milli notices a giant pirate ship right nearby them. The ship would work, but there's a problem, there's no pirate to drive a giant pirate ship. Geo uses his shape belt to build his own pirate so they can set sail, and they name the pirate "Square Beard" (hence the shape of his beard).

Symmetry for a Crocodile[]

Zilch uses his staff to create a hungry crocodile spell to slow down the Team's progress while sailing. Geo builds food and uses the cannon to feed the crocodile her three (3) favorite foods, which happened to be a pineapple, a pretzel, and a pepperoni pizza, all of which start with the letter P.

Zilch is angry that Team Umizoomi got past the crocodile. He tries to do another spell, but he gets blown away by a whale. Eventually, Geo gets the Star Key.

Relic Cave[]

The king of numbers calls the team and asks if they have made progress. They tell him that they got the star key, and then the king discovers a blue lock shaped like a diamond, so the team next has to find a key of that shape. Before the call ends, the king wishes the team luck, and Bot discovers a Relic Cave as his robo-radar points towards it when trying to locate the Diamond Key. When they try to go in, the cave closes and the only way in is blocked.

Bot's Uncovering[]

Bot counts the numbers from one (1) through nine (9) and uses his robot brush and laser to uncover the numbers and write the missing numbers, which in this case, were five (5) and nine (9), respectively.

The Lion's Bridge[]

Zilch pops up and breaks the Lion's bridge into pieces using his magic, preventing the team from getting to the Diamond Key. Two (2) lion cubs help them by telling them that the rocks have numbers on them. However, only some of them are safe, the others are booby-trapped. Bot takes on the challenge, since he is great at counting. Stepping on a booby-trapped number will drop him into the water. Bot has to listens for the number of their dad's roars so he can safely step on a rock with the matching number and get the Diamond Key. The three (3) safe rocks had a three (3), six (6), and eight (8) respectively. The other But, Bot has a long way to get back! Luckily, the Diamond Key was on a rope, so he uses the rope like a lasso to attach it to a cave pillar, then he swings back safely!

Mine Cart Chase[]

The Team find an old mine cart they can use to get to the Heart Key. However, Zilch steals the mine cart, but Geo builds another one with his Super Shapes. Suddenly, Zilch in his purple mine cart splits the tracks into two (2) as a means of making sure they get lost and possibly fall off the tracks. and the team in their orange mine cart needs to follow the track that keeps going so they don't fall off. They take a bumpy track and a loop-de-loop track to get out of the cave and catch up with Zilch.

Race to Pattern Peak[]

Milli races Zilch to the Heart Key at the top of the mountain by climbing up some multicolored crystals. Zilch tries to stop her by creating a mudball spell, hoping that the mudballs push her all the way back down to the bottom. Milli then uses her Pattern Power to dodge the mudballs while climbing the mountain, and she does so by only grabbing the crystals in this sequence: red, yellow, green (the same as a traffic light).

Milli and the Dragon[]

When Zilch finds out Milli caught up with him and has had enough, he creates a grumpy dragon spell so Milli can't get past it and Zilch could get the Heart Key. Milli uses her Pattern Power again to make the dragon laugh so she could get access to the rest of the way up the mountain. The sequence was: pancake, toothbrush, polka-dot shoe. To make things even funnier, Milli decided to stack the funny dragon objects on her head! Milli sees Zilch almost at the top, and then she asks the dragon to fly her to the top, and she grabs the Heart Key just before Zilch did.

Back to Numberland[]

Team Umizoomi flies on the dragon's back to get back to Numberland and rescue the King of Numbers. Along the way, they see the lions and Square Beard cheering for them!

Zilch's Ultimate Final Spell[]

When Team Umizoomi approach the tower's steps, they are stopped by Zilch, who decides to use all of the magic he has for his ultimate, powerful, final spell - a growing spell that turns himself into a giant, big enough to block the entrance to the tower and prevent Team Umizoomi from completing their quest. However, using Milli's Measurement Powers, they are able to measure up Zilch's size and break the spell by counting down from his larger size of ten (10) and causing Zilch to shrink down to his original size of one (1). With Zilch's last spell broken, his staff breaks and he has absolutely no more magic to wield. Defeated and upset that he could not do any more magic, Zilch stomps off angrily muttering to himself.

Conclusion: Royal Rescue[]

The Team rescue the King from the tower and revive Numberland. Everybody is happy he is rescued, except Zilch. Then, Team Umizoomi teaches him how to count, and he now loves numbers, turning his whole personality around. Zilch even initiates the celebration, and everyone in Numberland joins in on the Crazy Shake before the team signs off, ending the episode.

Trivia[]

  • The film's alternate title is “The King of Numbers!”.
  • This film is one of the six game remakes from Umi City Mighty Missions.
  • Zilch says "I feel a celebration coming on!" instead of Bot, though Bot's disco ball comes up.

  • Geo had to use his Super Shapes a total of five times in this episode alone.
  • Zilch's laugh sounds a lot like Nick Jr. Face's fanfare, except with four (4) notes (in this case, laughs) instead of three (3).
    • Zilch is also coincidentally voiced by Chris Phillips, the same person who played Face on Nick Jr. from 1994-2003.
  • The castle in this episode bares a resemblance to the Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland.
  • This episode was released on DVD about a month before it made its official premiere on TV.
