Episode Description[]
Olivia is sleeping over at her Grandpa's house tonight but she forgot to bring her favorite bedtime story, by the name of "Goodnight Polka Dot Pirate!" Milli, Geo and Bot are on the case! [1]
Summary[]
After Bot reads a story about counting robots, the team gets a call from their friend Olivia, who's spending the night at her grandpa's, which she can't sleep without her favorite bedtime story "Good Night, Polka-Dot Pirate". So the team goes to the library to find a copy of the book, so Olivia can go to sleep peacefully.
Synopsis[]
Intro: Reading a Story[]
One early evening, Team Umizoomi is at home in the Fountain Headquarters reading a book with Bot. The book is called the Great Robot Counting Book. In it are some rhyming phrases involving counting the robots in the pictures, which included one (1) tall striped robot, two (2) little robots under a rug, three (3) robots upside-down, and six (6) robots standing together. They all loved it.
Olivia Calls the Team[]
As soon as Bot puts the book back in the shelf, his Umi-Alarm rings, and he finds out that their friend Olivia did not bring her favorite bedtime book to her grandpa's house when she went to sleep over there. Since she cannot get to sleep without that book, she asks the team to head over to the library to get another copy of the book for her. Milli assures Olivia that they will bring it in before her bedtime. The adventure then begins as the team gets their Mighty Math Powers ready, with the Mighty Math Powers song.
How Does the Library Work?[]
After taking the UmiCar to the library, the team wonders how to get a book from the library, and Bot tells them that process with the How Does It Work song. He then explains that they need to get a library card, and then use the computer to find out where a certain book can be found. After they find the book(s) they want to borrow, they have to use the scanner to scan their card and the item(s) they are borrowing. They then can have the book, but must return it by the time it is due to the same library.
The Library Card Machine[]
Team Umizoomi first goes to the library card machine, which looks like a big camera, to make their own shared library card with their picture on it. To help them reach it, they seek a little help from their bouncy shoes. After getting a lift up there, they turn on the machine with a circle button, and then try to maneuver Bot to the middle of the square where the picture will be taken, with a little help from Umi-Friend. Then, the rest of the team gets into the picture, and it gets taken, which is then used on their official library card. The first step is completed!
The Computer[]
After Bot stores the library card in his Bot-o-Mat, Team Umizoomi makes their way to the computer from the library card machine, and to get up there, they bounce on the bean bags, spin on the mobile, and then land on the desk where the computer is on. They then use their feet to type on the keyboard by searching the words "good night" on the computer, which gives them the matching results. There were three (3) books in the library that began with "Good Night." With a little help from Umi-Friend, they then click on the book Olivia wants, called "Good Night, Polka Dot Pirate." The computer then shows the call numbers on the book so the team will know where the book is placed in the library.
Finding the Book[]
To find the book the team is looking for, they are given the book's call numbers, which are 3, 9, and 100, respectively. The book was eventually found in the ninth bookshelf in the third section, which they got to with a ride on a friend's backpack. Bot then double-checks those numbers with his robot computer, and they match those that were on the book! They found Olivia's favorite book, completing the second step of the process.
Check-Out[]
After the team takes the book out from the shelf, they sing the Call Numbers song as they ride on a library cart to the checkout counter. Bot scans both the library card and the book, and now it has been officially checked out, completing their trip to the library! But then, Bot gets a video call from Olivia on his belly screen. She states that she has to go to bed after the sun goes down, that time of which is coming real soon. Milli then tells her that the team has her book and is going to get it right to her.
Book Delivery[]
Team Umizoomi goes to Olivia's bedroom to give her the book she asked for. Olivia tells them to go through a window with purple polka-dot curtains to get there. After finding the right window, Milli uses her Pattern Power to put a vine on the building next to that window to climb up there. Upon arrival at Olivia's bedroom, she receives her book, and thanks the team for sending it over.
The Final Bedtime Story[]
Olivia is all ready for bed now that it's nighttime, and she and the team snuggle up in her bed to hear the bedtime story. At the end of the story, Olivia falls asleep and gets a kiss from her grandpa after he says goodnight. Team Umizoomi then gets really happy that they got Olivia to fall asleep really nicely, and they quietly leave her bedroom and climb back down to the ground before doing a real nighttime disco celebration with the UmiShake and Crazy Shake.
