Whirly is a small purple tornado that can steal shapes. When the Shape Bandit releases it from its bag, it steals all the shapes in the area, then when the Shape Bandit reopens the bag, it returns with the shapes and reenters the bag. It is the Shape Bandit's signature tool.

In both its appearances, it steals common shapes such as squares, triangles, and squares. At the end of Team Umizoomi VS. The Shape Bandit, it is also seen to be capable of returning stolen shapes when commanded by The Shape Bandit to do so.

Trivia[]
- It is questionable if it is sentient or not. In Umi Grand Prix!, it directly disobeys The Shape Bandit's orders by picking him up, refusing to put him down when he commands to, and dropping him in the lake. This suggests that it may have a mind of its own.
- It also seems to be able to remember things, as it returns all the items it stole to the correct place at the end of Team Umizoomi VS. The Shape Bandit.
- It was not named until Umi Grand Prix, it was just referred to as a purple tornado or purple whirlwind.
- This character is not to be confused with Oso's helicopter friend.
